We have two types of accommodation available (Both off campus) for
student's:
1. Homestay accommodation and
2. Le Student 8
1. Homestay

We have a number of homestay hosts to suit most student requirements.
Whether it be special diet requirements, religion or pets, MIT will do
everything possible to ensure that a host is found to suit the individual
needs of every student. Homestay cost $210 per week and this includes 3
meals per day (At least one hot meal), use of services such as gas, water
and electricity. Any use of the hosts telephone must be arranged prior to
use by the host and the student themselves. If homestay is orgnaised for the
student, they are required to stay with the host for a minimum of two weeks
and must give them a further 2 weeks notice prior to moving out (unless the
student stipulates that they only want two weeks before they arrive).
2. Le Student 8
Le Student 8 is our Preferred Student accommodation. It is very up market
which has a swimming pool, gym and a fully furnished studio room with TV,
VCR and a small bathroom. There are Communal kitchen facilities available to
cook ones own food or there is also a top restaurant available on the ground
floor. For more information on Le Student 8 please feel free to visit their
website www.lestudent8.com.au . It is $210
per week for Le Student accommodation. This includes dinner every night at
the hotel restaurant. This also includes services such as water and
electricity. Telephone use will be charged to the students hotel account and
must be paid upon moving out of the hotel (within the 1st four weeks). The
student is required to stay at Le Student 8 for a minimum of 2 weeks and up
to 4 weeks with this deal, and must give sufficient amount of notice prior
to moving out of the hotel. They are then given an option to remain with
them long term and a contract will be agreed upon between the student and Le
Student 8.
Please note that once confirmation of accommodation is arranged by MIT with
a host, no refund can be made to the student.
MIT can also organise Airport pickup. This service must be arranged by a
minimum of 4 working days prior to the students arrival in Australia, but it
is highly recommended that we are given as much notice as possible to ensure
that all details are in place well before the student arrives. The more
notice given, the better option cam be arranged for them. To orgnaise
airport pickup MIT requires the following information:
**** Students arrival date in Melbourne
**** The students arrival time in Melbourne and
*****The students flight number
The fee for airport pickup is $70.00 per student
Students wishing to uses these services are also required to make a payment
of $100 Application fee. Please note that this fee is chargeable as soon as
any arrangements are made on behalf of the student, even if the student
later changes his/her mind.
If students do want to change the options, they must give MIT at least 4
weeks notice prior to their arrival. Any fees paid towards these services,
will be paid into their semester fees, or if requested can be reimbursed to
the student upon request once they arrive, if no work has been done on their
behalf.
MIT pride themselves in the thoroughness of the selection but can only do a
good job if we are given the time to do so, so please ensure that all
appropriate information is sent to us in good time. Applicants are required
