MIT reveals commitment to excellence
Posted: 24 May 2011
Established in the mid-nineties, Melbourne Institute of Technology is now one of Australia's leading private higher education institutions. With campuses in Melbourne and Sydney, it offers undergraduate and postgraduate education in the areas of Business and Information Technology.
June 2011 marks a turning point in MIT's development. MIT’s CEO, Shesh Ghale, explains, "We have spent the last twelve months conducting a comprehensive research study. The findings reinforce our belief that we provide a terrific grounding in specific areas. However, responses from students and non-students lead us to believe our old corporate identity didn't match their experience of the institute. This study gave us the impetus to create a brand identity more in line with our goals, and the aspirations of our staff and students."
The study was conducted to find ways to provide students with an even better education. The findings reminded MIT of their strengths - a focus on excellence in specific courses and a more personal approach to education with a commitment to the practical development of skills - making it easier for students to translate what they learn into a career. The introduction of its new logo and identity is paired with a two word promise which summarises MIT's commitment to giving students a quality, career-focussed education - Practical Excellence.
This renewed focus forms the foundation for some exciting developments in the future.
