Welcome to our newest staff members

We would like to introduce two new staff members who have joined us in 2016.

Ms Kristina Nicholls is the new Head of School of Business at MIT.

Prior to commencing her role with Melbourne Institute of Technology, Kris was the General Manager, Learning and Development with the Kaplan owned, Franklyn Scholar Group of four registered training organisations, based in Melbourne. Kris commenced her professional teaching career as an art teacher with the Victorian Education Department and has also previously pursued a career in the hospitality and tourism industry.

Amongst her teaching and other qualifications, Kris holds a Master of Business Marketing and is currently in the final stage of her Doctor of Business Administration degree at Victoria University.

Kris’ philosophy in education, is that students are not numbers but are clients and that their life-long journey of learning should be both personally rewarding and industry relevant. She shares her passion for education and learning with her students and peers and endeavours at all times, to inspire those around her.

 

Ms Dimuthu Ekanayake is our new full time Accounting Lecturer based in Melbourne.

Dimuthu has over 15 years’ experience working in education, holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Master of Business Administration and is awaiting the final result for her PhD thesis submission. Dimuthu’s thesis investigated a topic close to our hearts … “The Labour Market Outcomes of Migrant Accountants: A Mixed Methods Study from an Immigrant Perspective”.

Dimuthu is an emerging researcher and her research profile in higher education includes publication in international journals, and presentations at national conferences.
