The course aims to provide you with knowledge and skills in a range of key business disciplines, along with employability skills such as communication, collaboration, problem solving, self-direction and leadership, necessary to understand, participate and lead in the modern business world.

The Bachelor of Business (BBus) offers the following key features:
- Core Knowledge in Business: The Bachelor of Business (BBus) incorporates the Core Body of Knowledge in Business that is recommended by CPA Australia, ICAA, IPA (formerly NIA), AIM, AMI and the AMSRS.
- Core Knowledge in Accounting: The Bachelor of Business covers the CPA Australia, ICAA and IPA (formerly NIA) Core Body of Knowledge in Accounting.
- Professional and interpersonal skills: To ensure that the students can have satisfying careers in Business, the course specifically emphasises the professional and interpersonal skills found within the core body of knowledge for Business. These skills are also reinforced in the Industry Project units and across all the units in the course.
- Lifelong learning: Students gain key skills in research, using both online and library materials. They also gain key skills and significant experience in collaborative learning, and gain theoretical knowledge in the underpinnings of business. All of these factors will help graduates of the Bachelor of Business (BBus) to be lifelong learners.
- Hands on practical work: The course includes a large amount of practical, hands on work, in addition to substantial coverage of Accounting, Marketing, and Management theory. Guest speakers will be invited to present at seminars. Guest speakers are expected to value add in the practical aspect of the course work which is particularly important.
- Industry relevant material: The practical laboratory components of the course incorporate material that is specifically relevant for industry. In the laboratories, students gain experience with MYOB and other accounting and statistical packages; they also gain experience with other computer packages such as MS word etc.
- Industry based projects: The students will complete two final year capstone project units that will be based on a real application in industry or in an organisation. This will allow students to bring together and strengthen the knowledge and skills they have gained during the program. It will also enhance capability to commence employment upon graduation.
The course will emphasise an innovative and independent-minded approach to Business education as the key to competitiveness in the emerging world. It is intended that the course would consist of a combination of both domestic and international students. Such students will gain benefits from the broad range of circumstances and experiences of their colleagues.
Teaching methodology and assessment
The course is delivered in a small-class environment through lectures, tutorials and individual consultation. Where possible, case-study analysis and problem-solving approaches are adopted to enhance student learning.
Assessment is continuous during the semester, and consist tutorial work, individual and group assignments, class participation, presentations, tests and final examinations. In each unit, the final examination can vary depending on each unit structure.
Professional accreditation and memberships
The Bachelor of Business with Accounting major is accredited by CPA Australia (see www.cpaaustralia.com.au), ICAA – Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (see http://www.charteredaccountants.com.au), and IPA - Institute of Public Accountants (formerly the National Institute of Accountants) (see www.publicaccountants.org.au). Upon successful completion of the program graduates will be eligible to apply for associate membership of both CPAA and IPA (formerly NIA); and entry to both the CPA Program of CPAA and the CA Program of ICAA.

The Bachelor of Business is also accredited by the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority (VRQA) and is registered on the Australian Government Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS).
