Step 2: Apply directly
MIT offers a flexible start with three course intakes per year. These intakes are as follows:
- March Intake
- Mid Year / July Intake
- Summer / November Intake
Undergraduate applicants
Applying directly to MIT
Direct applications are accepted throughout the year for all three intakes, in March, July and November. You can apply directly to MIT:
- As an alternative to VTAC
- If you are too late to apply through VTAC
- If you are applying to study at the MIT Sydney campus
- If you are applying for November (Summer) intake
- If you are a non-Year 12 student
Postgraduate applicants
You should apply directly to MIT for all three intakes, in March, July and November.
Step 3: Lodge your application
Direct applicants
Download and complete the relevant application form:
Return the completed application form to MIT together with:
Current Year 12 applicants
- Your ATAR and VCE Study Scores or equivalent
Non-Year 12 applicants
- ATAR and VCE Study Scores or equivalent, or
- Proof of work experience-curriculum vitae/resume and letter of employment, or
- Personal Statement-reasons for applying
- Post-Secondary academic results and certificate from previous studies, if applying for Recognition Prior Learning (RPL) or Credit Transfer
You must provide certified copies of your previous qualifications and any other supporting documentation in relation to your application. Your documents may be certified by:
- A registered accountant
- Bank manager
- Barrister, solicitor or patent attorney
- Police officer in charge of a police station, or the rank of Sergeant or above
- Postal manager
- Principal of an Australian secondary college, high school or primary school

Step 4: Receive your offer
Direct applicants
If your application is successful, you will receive an offer pack, which includes:
- your course Offer letter
- and Acceptance of Offer, Terms and Conditions of Enrolment, Fee Payment and Refund Policy.
If you are eligible for FEE-HELP, you will also receive:
- a Request for FEE-HELP assistance form
- a FEE-HELP information booklet.
