Career-focused courses

MIT courses are developed and reviewed in extensive consultation with industry leaders and senior academics to ensure the course materials are always up-to-date, practical and relevant to the real world.

Our courses integrate hands-on practical work, collaborative learning, research and industry based projects, written reports, oral presentations, case methods, and use of technology, which help you obtain key employable skills such as communication, collaboration, problem solving and self-direction.

Professional credibility

Professional membership gives you global credibility and recognition, access to industry networking events and professional development opportunities.

The MIT Accounting and Networking programs are accredited by professional bodies such as CPA, Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA), National Institute of Accountants (NIA) and Australian Computer Society (ACS).

In addition all MIT higher education courses are accredited by the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority (VRQA) and are registered on the Australian Government Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS).

Experience the Australian workplace

Internships

The MIT Internship Program allows you to gain real world experience related to your field and create a network of contacts, thus enhancing your employment prospects.

All students studying at MIT are given the opportunity to participate in the MIT Internship Program.

On-campus employment

Each semester MIT offers a wide range of on-campus jobs to students studying at both Melbourne and Sydney campuses.

We have taken a fundamentally different approach to on-campus employment. We do not just employ you, but provide broader skills acquisition through supplementary training programs, which will further prepare you for real world situations.

Maximise your opportunity

There is a tendency for students to think that the employment market is awaiting their graduation. Nothing could be further from the truth, as many graduates find out to their cost.

We believe that, through MITRA – the MIT Recruitment Agency, your career development begins from day one. Employment preparation should go hand in hand with your academic development, in order to maximise the opportunity of getting the best possible job upon graduation.

Realise your potential

We understand that studying in a new environment, in a new system of learning can sometimes be challenging. Our experience has taught us that students who feel secure and supported can overcome these challenges more easily, allowing them to focus on realising their academic and personal potential.

As an MIT student you have access to a wide range of free support services, such as: orientation, confidential personal counselling, peer-to-peer academic mentoring, study skills workshops and career counselling.

Centrally located in two of the world’s most liveable cities

With campuses in the heart of Melbourne and Sydney city, MIT is accessible and convenient. Our campuses are in the midst of major banks, post offices, supermarkets, shops, restaurants, and have excellent public transport access.

You will enjoy all the benefits of being in the Central Business District (CBD), including opportunities for employment, leisure and entertainment.

Optional three-semester advantage

Flexible start dates

MIT has three semesters in one academic year, commencing in March, July and November. This allows you to commence an MIT course when it is convenient for you.

Fast-track to your future

The additional November semester also allows you to fast-track your course, which can save you time and money, and places you in the employment market ahead of your peers.

For example, the three semester system gives you an option to compete a three year (6 semesters) program in two calendar years, or if you are unable to commence a program in July, you have an option of starting in November instead of waiting until March the following year.

Excellent Facilities

As an MIT student you have access to lectures theatres and classrooms with the latest audiovisual equipments, well-equipped computer laboratories, purpose built studio laboratories, extensive library with latest electronic information services and wireless internet access.

Small class sizes

MIT class sizes are smaller than traditional universities. Small class size encourages participation, develop confidence and ensure that you receive academic contact and support at a personal level.

Accessible teachers

Believe it or not, at larger Universities you have to seek your teacher out. They don’t come looking for you. At MIT teachers are passionate about teaching and easily accessible to all students.

Scholarships

MIT offers a range of scholarships across all of its undergraduate and postgraduate programs. These scholarships not only reward academic achievement, but also assist students from various backgrounds to achieve their educational goals.
