Step 1: Choose the right course
Melbourne campus
For information on all MIT courses please visit www.mit.edu.au/courses
Government FEE-HELP places available
Australian students applying to study at MIT are eligible for FEE-HELP – Australian Government loan scheme designed to assist Australian students undertaking tertiary education. FEE-HELP covers full or part of the student’s tuition fees, with no upfront fees required. For further information please click here.
Sydney campus
For information on University of Ballarat courses offered at MIT Sydney campus, please visit www.mit.edu.au/ubatmit/ub_courses
Step 2: Should I apply directly or through VTAC?
MIT offers a flexible start with three course intakes per year. These intakes are as follows:
- March Intake
- Mid Year / July Intake
- Summer / November Intake
Undergraduate applicants
Applying through VTAC
If you are planning to commence studies in March or in Mid Year / July you can apply through VTAC - Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre at www.vtac.edu.au. Alternatively, you may apply directly to MIT at any time.
Applying directly to MIT
As an alternative option to VTAC, or if you are late to apply through VTAC, you can apply directly to MIT.
If you are planning to commence studies in Summer / November intake, you must apply directly to MIT.
Postgraduate applicants
You must apply directly to MIT for all three intakes.
Sydney applicants
If of you are applying for University of Ballarat course at MIT Sydney campus, you must apply directly to MIT for all three intakes.
Step 4: Lodge your application (direct applicants only)
Download and complete the relevant application form:
Attach the following documents to your application:
- Certified copies of your academic results and certificates
- Evidence of citizenship or residency
- Course structure and unit syllabus from previous studies, if applying for credit exemption
Submit, email, fax, or mail your completed Application Form and all required documents to:

Step 4: Receive your offer
VTAC applicants
For offer dates, please visit the VTAC website at www.vtac.edu.au.
Direct applicants
If your application is successful, you will receive an offer pack which includes your Letter of Offer, Terms and Conditions of Enrolment, Fee Payment and Refund Policy document, and Offer Acceptance Guide.
You will also receive a Request for FEE-HELP Assistance Form and a FEE-HELP Information Booklet (for eligible students).
