The MIT Higher Education Diploma courses take two trimesters (8 months) to complete and are equivalent to the first-year of relevant Bachelor degrees at MIT and other Australian Universities.

On successful completion of the Diploma, you could enter the second-year of a relevant Bachelor degree at MIT or various other Australian Universities (conditions may apply). You may also choose entry level positions in the workforce.

TAFE/VET to Degree Pathway

MIT offers students with a TAFE/VET Diploma a faster way to complete a Bachelor degree.  You could get up to 1 year credit transfer for a relevant Diploma and up to 1.5 years for a relevant Advanced Diploma. This will enable you to fast-track a 3-year degree in just 1 year. 

Applying for Credit

To apply for credits on the basis of prior studies, you will need to complete the following steps: 

  1. Download and complete the Credit transfer form
  2. Submit the completed form and supporting documents with your course application form
  3. Check with the Admissions Office if your credit application for prior studies has been approved 5 days after submitting the application.
