The MIT Higher Education Diploma courses take two trimesters (8 months) to complete and are equivalent to the first-year of relevant Bachelor degrees at MIT and other Australian Universities.
On successful completion of the Diploma, you could enter the second-year of a relevant Bachelor degree at MIT or various other Australian Universities (conditions may apply). You may also choose entry level positions in the workforce.

TAFE/VET to Degree Pathway
MIT offers students with a TAFE/VET Diploma a faster way to complete a Bachelor degree. You could get up to 1 year credit transfer for a relevant Diploma and up to 1.5 years for a relevant Advanced Diploma. This will enable you to fast-track a 3-year degree in just 1 year.
Pathway to further study
MIT has programs at different levels which allow you to advance your study in another program which builds on or further develops your current program. Some of these programs are ‘nested’ into other programs such as the Diplomas which are nested into the Bachelors. The same for the Graduate Diplomas which are nested into the Masters. Therefore, pathways exist from Diplomas, Bachelors, Graduate Diplomas and Masters which take into account your previous study and provides flexible entry and exit points.
