Master of Business Information Systems
Overview
The Master of Business Information Systems (MBIS) is a state-of-the-art program that provides you with the knowledge, skills and values to be effective in modern business environments. It considers modern principles and theories of computing together with the practical applications of information technology, and examines both the organisational and technological issues needed for the analysis and design of business information systems, with a strong emphasis on e-Commerce.
After successfully completing this program, students should:
- be familiar with the latest developments in information technology;
- understand the different types of information technology tools and their applications;
- be able to manage the impact of technology in organisations;
- understand the role of technology in managing knowledge and information;
- be able to direct the use and uptake of modern technology;
- recognise the threats and opportunities of technology in business;
- value the importance of technology in the business cycle;
- have an awareness of ethics and social implications of your interest area; and
- have enhanced written and oral communication skills
