Master of Information Technology
Course objectives
The Master of Information Technology is designed for people who have a Bachelor degree in an area other than Computing or Information Technology.
The Master of Information Technology is a coursework degree which introduces students to advanced theoretical and practical concepts. There is an in-depth approach to programming, project management skills and software engineering.
On completion of this course students should:
- have programming skills required to design and implement complex computer systems;
- be aware of the latest developments in IT;
- be familiar with project management principles and techniques;
- be able to analyse, design and implement software systems, including functional, relational and object-oriented methodologies;
- have an understanding of the theoretical basis of Information Technology;
- have good written and oral communication skills; and
- demonstrate an awareness of ethical and social issues associated with IT implementations.
