The Undergraduate Certificate in Information Technology will provide you with ICT skills you need to pursue a career in the high in demand field of Information Technology. This course is your first step towards developing your skills and knowledge in Information Technology to improve your future career prospects.
For students who wish to study further, the units you complete within the Undergraduate Certificate course will qualify you for a full credit transfer into the Bachelor of Networking.
The Bachelor degree provides graduates with an opportunity to enter careers in network and information technology in a broad range of industries.
This course attracts the National Priority Short Courses funding for all four units.
Each unit consists of 15 credit points. A full-time study load is sixty credit points per term. Undergraduate Certificate in Cyber Security and Networking (UCCN) is comprised of four core units

On completion of this program, you will have sound skills and knowledge in cybersecurity and computer networking to secure, protect, and support business computing applications and infrastructure. You will have a sound knowledge of cybersecurity threats and of relevant remedies in security resolutions to support small to medium-sized companies. You can find excellent career opportunities in greatly expanding job markets in cybersecurity – a field of great interest during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. You can also opt to pursue further study in the Bachelor of Networking (Major in Cybersecurity) or a similar program at a higher education institute.
Special Admission Criteria for Year 12 graduates from 2020 - adjusted due to impact of COVID-19
Pre-requisites for students from Victoria:
Units 1 and 2: Satisfactory score in any English in VCE or equivalent; and
Units 1 and 2: Satisfactory score in any Mathematics in VCE or equivalent.
Pre-requisites for students from New South Wales:
Year 11: Satisfactory score in any English in HSC or equivalent; and
Year 11: Satisfactory score in any Mathematics in HSC or equivalent.
Entry requirements for Year 12 graduates from 2019 and 2018
Pre-requisites for students from Victoria:
Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 20 in any English in VCE or equivalent;
Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 20 in any Mathematics in VCE or equivalent.

Band 2 or higher in any English in HSC; and
Band 2 or higher in any Mathematics in HSC or equivalent.

In 2021, the Australian Government is providing additional short course Commonwealth Supported Places (CSPs) for higher education across a range of disciplines. A limited number of Commonwealth Supported Places are available for eligible domestic students.
You must apply for an eligible course by Friday 12th March for March intake 2021 and Friday 2nd July 2021 for July intake. Students must complete the course by December 2021 to be eligible for the free course.
