Bio

Amoakoh GA obtained his postgraduate degree (i.e. PhD in Communications Engineering) from Adelaide University in Australia, graduate degree (i.e. Master’s in digital communications & technology) from Chalmers University (CTH) in Sweden, undergraduate degree (in Electrical & Electronic Engineering) from Technische Universität Hamburg-Harburg (TUHH) in Germany, and Graduate Certificate in Education (Tertiary Education) from Federation University in Australia.
A chartered engineer with UK Engineering Council and senior member of the IEEE, Amoakoh has worked at several institutions in several countries, including Australia (CQUniversity), NZ (Auckland University of Technology), Singapore (National University of Singapore), Finland (Aalto University), Sweden (Ericson Mobile Data AB) and Germany (Philips Semiconductors and Tubes, Hamburg). He was 2011 Chair of IEEE Activities in Africa, and founded the IEEE-sponsored ICAST international conference series, as well as many IEEE Student Branches (e.g. at CQUniversity). Amoakoh is an expert in curriculum development and academic management, and served as the dean of the Faculty of Engineering Science and Computing (FESAC) at Pentecost University (2009-2014). His current research interests focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithms and their applications in health (healthcare analytics), education (learning analytics), IoT (environmental surveillance), drones signal processing and agriculture. Amoakoh has co-authored several papers, including 2 major textbooks.
