Whether lecturing in a dynamic classroom, mentoring research students, or contributing to academic leadership, Dr. Ranajit Kumar Bairagi brings an energetic, student-centred and professionally grounded approach to higher education. With a PhD in Finance, CPA professional qualification, and over 25 years of university teaching and research experience, Ranajit has established himself as a respected academic across Australia and internationally.
Ranajit’s academic journey spans multiple higher-education institutions, including Deakin University, Federation University, Holmesglen Institute, Polytechnic Institute Australia, UBSS, AIBI, and Asia Pacific International College (APIC), where he has served as Senior Lecturer, Lecturer, and Associate Head of Discipline. His excellence in teaching has been recognised with APIC’s Teaching Excellence Award (2022).
In addition to his extensive Australian academic footprint, Ranajit has made significant long-term contributions to higher education in Bangladesh, notably at Khulna University, where he served as a full-time and visiting academic for 25+ years, coordinated the Executive MBA program, supervised research, and undertook major academic leadership roles including course development, internship coordination, and journal editorial responsibilities.
Ranajit’s teaching expertise covers a wide portfolio across Accounting, Finance, Economics, and Quantitative Methods, including Corporate Finance, Investment, Digital Finance, Portfolio Management, Financial Accounting, Advanced Financial Accounting, Auditing, Taxation, Econometrics, and Management Accounting. His teaching philosophy emphasises clarity, real-world applicability, and fostering independent analytical capability among students.
A committed researcher, Ranajit has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in ABDC-listed, SCOPUS-indexed, and international journals. His research interests span economic policy uncertainty, stock market dynamics, environmental economics, IFRS adoption, climate disclosures (TCFD), foreign direct investment, and higher-education policy. His collaborative research has been presented at national and international forums and supported by competitive grants, including APIC’s Small Research Grant (2021).
Beyond teaching and research, Ranajit is actively engaged in the scholarly community as an editorial board member, article reviewer for major journals, and supervisor of Master of Business Research students. His professional memberships include CPA Australia, reflecting his strong integration of industry relevance and academic rigor.
