Doug Grant is an Emeritus Professor at Swinburne University of Technology, having previously been the inaugural Dean of the Faculty of ICT, Head of the Schools of IT and Computer Science & Software Engineering, and Head of the Department of Computer Science.
Having concluded his full-time academic career, Doug is now involved in a wide variety of academic and governance roles. As a committed educator, he still teaches, most recently in cryptography at Deakin University. He has chaired the Professional Standards Board of the Australian Computer Society, and subsequently was Vice President of the Society with oversight of professional standards and professional development. He regularly chairs program accreditation panels for the ACS, and has on a number of occasions chaired faculty / departmental review panels at various universities.
Doug has significant governance experience, having sat on the Boards of the Australian Computer Society, Software Engineering Australia, Victorian Partnership for Advanced Computing and several sporting and community organisations.
Most recently, Doug has been a member of the Board of Directors for Bellarine Community Health, the main provider of primary care community health services on the Bellarine Peninsula, and chaired the Board in 2017.
