Join us on an adventure day as we leave busy Sydney CBD behind to explore the beautiful and relaxing Cockatoo Island which was in the heart of Sydney harbour!

09.00am – Meet at MIT Ground floor and we get ready to start to travel ‘Explore the historic Island’.

09.10 am – We start our journey early at Darling Harbour as we take a morning walk to our first destination stop of Barangaroo Wharf!

09.38 am – Departure from Barangaroo Wharf to Cockatoo Island.

09.48 am – We arrive at Wharf and get off the ferry, start our journey to explore the island.

10.00 am –12.00pm Talking Object Tour---There is a free Talking Object Tour harnesses mobile technology to bring 9 objects, including historic landmarks, to life. Look out for the turquoise "Hello" signs to start a lively conversation with one of our talking objects. * (Self-guided tour is FREE)

12.00pm – 2pm –Lunch Time for rest (not included in price) at Island two cafes

2.00pm – 4.00pm - free time for picnic and game, we could walk around to see the Camping area, Convict Prison area and World War 2 Shipyard area too.

4.00pm - Start to pack up and get ready for ferry

4.18pm - 4.27pm - Leave wharf and back to Barangaroo.

***IMPORTANT INFORMATION***

Your Cost – $15 (Which includes your Opal fare) water and Ferry Trip are both FREE. All other costs i.e. drinks, coffees, souvenirs are at each participants expense.

A $15 CASH deposit is then payable to MIT Finance on Level 7 after your register on Eventbrite to hold your place and is due by 5pm Thursday 18th January 2024 (which will be returned to you on the day) Your registration will be automatically cancelled if the deposit is not paid by the deadline.

IMPORTANT NOTE - Each student will have to ensure they have this amount ($13.58) added to their Opal card to cover the cost of the return ferry trip prior to the day’s journey as we MUST leave right on time from Barangaroo Wharf at 09.38am.

Bookings are essential and are capped at 20. Hurry! Registrations close Wednesday 17th January 2024 at 6pm.
