You don't want to miss out on MITs exciting new adventure added to the Country To Coast destination series. Be ready to be amazed and wowed by the beauty of the Australian country side. Be charmed by historic buildings within the country towns, Beechworth, Yackandandah and Bright. This Cross country adventure is an opportunity to experience life out of an Australian city and experience the real country life as we hop from locatation to location. The bush walks and scenic tours will roundout an exciting days adventure.

06.30am – Arrive at campus and sign in. Make sure everyone has signed the excursion consent forms. 

07.00am - Leave MIT Melbourne campus via the Coach and travel towards Beechworth Bakery. -  (288 La Trobe ST Melbourn – 27 Camp St, Beechworth.) 

10.05am - (Arrive approx.) 1st stop – The original Beechworth Bakery, we stop for a quick coffee break and enjoy this historic building and company-  we Leave at 10.35am and travel towards Yackandandah. 

11.00am - (Arrive approx.) – After a 17-minute drive we arrive at the 2nd stop which is Yackandandah. Here we will enjoy an authentic country pub meal, where there is a huge variety of delicious meals at YACK Star Hotel Pub. We have 1.5 hours to explore the Yackandandah town where there is a huge community of artist in residence, and you can experience the beauty of a small historic town. Or take a relaxing stroll down the city centre and enjoy the architecture and small boutiques.  We leave at 12.30pm and travel towards Mt Beauty. 

01.30pm – (Arrive approx.) – we will drive for 48 minutes and arrive at the 3rd stop Mt Beauty. Here we will experience an easy walk (round trip 1.5 hours) but immensely beneficial as we see the beautiful gorge and swimming holes. Students can experience nature in its finest and take some stunning photos at the end of the hike.  We leave at 3pm and travel towards Bright. 

03.36pm -(Arrive approx.). After a 36 mins drive we arrive at the 4th Stop – The city of Bright where we will enjoy the Tower Hill lookout. The views that will be experience include seeing the city of bright from afar, the pine plantations and old tabbaco station. We will spend a quick 30 minutes before travel back to Melbourne. Leave at 4.06pm 

4.06pm - 7.36pm Bright to MIT Melbourne – La Trobe St Melbourne

2.If you have a scheduled class on the 01/05/2026, this will make you INELIGIBLE to attend the trip, and you cannot participate.

Note there is a $20 CASH deposit required UPFRONT, payable to MIT by 5 pm Friday, 25th April 2026. Once registered and have obtained an electronic Eventbrite E-Ticket, you then pay $20 CASH deposit on Level 2 Finance. Please show your proof of registration. This will hold your place on the trip.
