TEQSA grants Self-Accrediting Authority(SAA) to Melbourne Institute of Technology
Melbourne Institute of Technology is delighted to share great news from TEQSA! The regulator has approved MIT's application to become a Self-Accrediting Authority (SAA).
Out of 148 institutes of Higher Education in Australia, MIT is now one of only a few institutions to have been granted this status.
What does this mean for MIT?
Our new Self-Accrediting Authority means that MIT has the same status as universities to self-accredit courses without TEQSA approval within the following two Broad Fields of Education (BFoE).
- BFoE 2: Information Technology excluding the Master of ICT by Research
- BFoE 8: Commerce and Management excluding the Master of Business by Research
Achieving SAA is a recognition of the trust and confidence TEQSA has in our quality assurance and governance processes. It is a key step toward achieving University College status.
Our SAA journey began more than two years ago. During this time, we've worked closely with TEQSA to meet the rigorous standards.
