MIT Celebrates the 2025 Graduation Ceremonies at the Grand Hyatt Melbourne
MIT proudly celebrated its 2025 Graduation Ceremonies yesterday at the Grand Hyatt Melbourne, honouring the dedication, achievements, and academic success of students from the School of Business (SOB) and the School of Information Technology & Engineering (SITE).
This year, 595 students graduated from MIT, including 162 graduates from the School of Business and 433 graduates from the School of IT & Engineering. Graduands were joined by family, friends, staff, and industry guests across two ceremonies, with both sessions also live-streamed for remote attendees in Australia and overseas.
School of Business (AM Ceremony)
The morning ceremony recognised 162 graduates across Business, Professional Accounting, Business Analytics, and Business Research programs.
The ceremony featured official addresses from MIT leadership, including:
- Dr Shesh Ghale – CEO
- Dr Rowena Coutts – Chair of the Board
- Professor Stuart Orr – Executive Dean
Guest Speaker Ms Sally Curtain, CEO of the Victorian Chamber of Commerce & Industry, delivered a keynote address focusing on leadership, industry partnerships, and the evolving business landscape.

- Academic Excellence Awards presented to eight high-performing students
- Outstanding Student of the Year: Thi Nha Lan Tran
- Graduate Speaker: Pollyanna Suerte (Master of Professional Accounting)
School of IT & Engineering (PM Ceremony)
The afternoon ceremony celebrated 433 graduates across IT, networking, data analytics, engineering technology, and cybersecurity programs.
Guest Speaker Mr Innes Willox, CEO of the Australian Industry Group, delivered an inspiring address highlighting the importance of digital capability, engineering innovation, and industry-ready graduates.
