MIT Research Newsletter December 2024
From the Research Director’s Desk
MIT’s Masters by Research students are completing their theses, which are being examined by external examiners. Our students’ high quality research projects are recognised by international experts who accepted their papers for presentation at international conferences. Academic staff at MIT are publishing papers in high quality journals, presenting papers at international conferences, and collaborating with both national and international experts on research projects. MIT is now ready to work with its industry partners and the alumni on sponsored research projects for researched solutions to industry problems.
As the year ends, MIT celebrates its research achievements presented in this newsletter with successful research students, high-quality publications, and hosting an international conference.

MIT Academic Collaborates with International Partners for Research
Dr Kholoud Alkayid, Senior Lecturer, School of Business represented MIT at the CANWEST International Research Congress 2024 in Casablanca, Morocco. She had the honour of chairing a session titled ‘E-commerce Applications in Entrepreneurship: Navigating the Digital Frontier’. This session focused on innovative strategies and trends in e-commerce, fostering insightful discussions among global researchers.
Following the conference, Dr. Alkayid was invited by His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuaimi, the former Minister of Climate Change and Environment in the UAE and now a Visiting Professor at the American University of Sharjah for discussions on empowering women in the Arab world through IT and leadership, extending the Australian experience to UAE.
Dr. Alkayid also visited the Dubai Knowledge Village, home to world-renowned universities’ offshore campuses, and met with Dr. Mohamed Batmatraf, the Director of Industry Relations for the Middle East at GEDU - https://gedu.global/
Potential benefits for MIT from these international collaborations include global partnerships in advancing education and research.
Dr Alkayid is a member of the conference organizing committee for the 6th International Conference on Supply Chain Management (ICSCM2025). This conference will be held at Hosei University, Tokyo, Japan, from February 21-23, 2025.
