Nutrition

  • Eat the rainbow!
  • Zip it up!
  • Fatten up!
  • Unplug at the table!

By now, most of us are aware that nutrition has a huge impact on our health and wellbeing. Students are required to stay motivated, engage with course work, retain important information and flourish in an academic environment. Saying this is much easier than actually executing it. Give yourself a head start by being conscious of your nutrition. Choosing the right foods and avoiding the wrong ones may sound simple, but in practice, most of us know this can be quite difficult…

Give yourself the best chance to succeed by fueling your body with the right foods! Here are some quick nutrition hacks to keep you operating at your maximum potential!

  • Eat the rainbow! You might have heard this before, but eating a wide range of different colored fruits and vegetables is a great way to stay topped up with essential vitamins and minerals your body and mind needs to function optimally
  • Zip it up! Pre-portion single servings of healthy snacks like edamame, almonds and whole grain crackers into zippered snack bags
  • Fatten up! Essential fats are vital to many areas of health and function, but are regularly neglected. Omega-3 fatty acids are found in salmon, walnuts, chia seeds and flax seeds.
  • Unplug at the table! Being mindful of your appetite and not being distracted by technology whilst eating has been found to reduce excess eating. You may be putting more fuel in your tank than what is required.
