The term ‘Mental Health’, for some, has negative connotations and is often misunderstood. Mental health actually refers to a state of well-being where an individual realizes their own potential, is able to cope with stresses encountered in everyday life, and can work productively to contribute to society in a capacity relevant to the capabilities of that individual (World Health Organization, 2020). Mental health is concerned with wellness, rather than illness and is not to be confused with a Mental Health condition, which is entirely different. Mental health is about being cognitively, emotionally and socially healthy.
