Jamuna Gurung is co-founder and Managing Director of Melbourne Institute of Technology.
As part of her role, she has overall responsibility to manage Melbourne Institute of Technology, Melbourne and Sydney Campuses. Jamuna was also Director of Marketing until April 2014 and shares function of strategic planning and business development of MIT.
Jamuna was born in Nepal and, came to Australia in 1991 to undertake a degree in Business. She graduated with a Bachelor of Business majoring in Marketing and Management from Swinburne University of Technology.
She is actively involved in Melbourne’s business and community life and has a passionate commitment to education. She serves as an Executive member of a Migration Welfare Fund (MWF) Taskforce of Non Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) from 2014. NRNA is voluntary organisation of Overseas Nepali diaspora which has members in more than 65 countries. The main objective of this task force is to raise funds to educate disadvantage Nepali youth for self-employment opportunities within Nepal, reduce vulnerabilities of migrant workers abroad particularly in the Middle East and provide services to MWs.
