Message from the CEO

Happy New Year!

CEO_DrSheshGhale

I would like to welcome you all to another year of renewed hope and resilience.

I hope that you had an enjoyable holiday with your family and friends and that you are now well-rested, rejuvenated and ready for a successful year of study.

As we welcome 2021, we have the chance to reflect on 2020, which was such a challenging year for everyone. Despite the challenges that we faced, I am particularly proud that your resilience, agility, and tenacity won through and kept you moving forward, helping you to achieve academic and personal milestones.

Whilst 2021 will see the introduction of the COVID-19 vaccine around the globe; there is no doubt that this virus will test us further.  So, as we usher in 2021, we encourage you to reflect on the strength you showed in 2020.

The MIT team has been working tirelessly on many new and exciting projects. It is my pleasure to share with you some of the innovations that MIT will be introducing to provide you with the knowledge and skills you need to achieve your dream career goals.

New MIT Courses

Facilities update: Keeping you COVID safe

MIT campuses now have ‘touchless’ taps, digital temperature device and hand sanitising stations available at our campuses to ensure your study environment is clean and safe.

Introducing BITE: MIT’s Incubator Hub

Last year, after many months of consultation and research, MIT established an innovation hub called BITE (Business Innovation Technology and Entrepreneurship).

This year we will take this to the next level by constructing a physical incubator hub on campus - in the Argus Building on level 5 of the Melbourne campus and on level 3 of the Sydney campus.

Student Work-Integrated Projects and Career Planning

MIT is committed to providing our graduates with greater access to career opportunities. In 2020 we redesigned all our undergraduate and postgraduate programs to provide our students with the opportunity to engage in real industry work experience projects in their capstone units. I can report that it was a very successful implementation, and undertaking these units will assist you in achieving your dream job.  We are particularly proud of these achievements, as MIT is one of a handful of higher education providers in Australia which offers real industry work as a requirement in all our courses.

Planning your career goals has never been more critical as we usher in the New Year.  To further enhance your career opportunities, a great deal of work, time, effort, and planning is currently underway and expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2021.  So, I urge you to seek assistance from our Career Centre as early as possible.

Last but not least, we are excited to embark on the New Year with renewed hope and resilience and urge you to continue with the strength and resilience you showed in 2020.

Stay blessed.

Yours sincerely,
Dr Shesh Ghale
