Ratification Committee

The Ratification Committeeis an advisory committee of the School that reports to the Learning and Teaching Committee through the Head of School and deals with assessment grading and final trimester results.

The function of the Ratification Committee is to:

  1. convene at the end of each trimester to formally consider and approve each student's results for publication or other action.
  2. Decide on matters of finalisation of results including where required moderation or remarking, considering grade distribution and reports from unit coordinators.
  3. Provide through the Head of School minutes and a final report of the ratification of results of each trimester to the Learning and Teaching Committee for endorsement prior to publication of results.
  4. report any matters that arise out of the Committee's deliberations of the trimester's results to the Learning and Teaching Committee through the Head of School.
  5. provide appropriate advice to the Head of School on matters pertaining to marking and grading of results.
  6. recommend to the Learning and Teaching Committee on improvements to process and procedures for result ratification.

Head of School, Deputy and Associate Heads of School, Course Coordinators and Unit Coordinators of courses offered by the School. Other academics who teach in a course may be invited by the Head of School to the Committee.
