Aims & Objectives

This unit introduces students to the issues associated with management in the contemporary business environment. It focuses on the resource development, utilisation and coordination perspectives of the management process. Bearing commonalities with the governance process, the unit introduces students to the research opportunities associated with the strategic management process.

Learning Outcomes

At the completion of this unit students should be able to:

  1. Integrate understanding, analysis and the significance of management concepts in an ethical manner and their applications to real practice situations.
  2. Research, and discuss management frameworks, then compare with real practice to demonstrate mastery of management principles in this era utilising innovative means.
  3. Demonstrate comprehension and apprehension of e-marketing products/services through reflection on the impact of technology in management.
  4. Learn to work in a diverse environment cooperatively and collaboratively to achieve team/group objectives.
  5. Interpret case-studies, research and integrate appropriate theoretical marketing and management concepts in the production of a business research report.
  6. Identify and discuss marketing and management issues and provide proposed solutions after appropriate synthesis of theoretical and practical concepts.
