Dusshera Celebration- Lunch on Campus!
Event by Melbourne CampusDate and time
- Wed, Oct 5 2022, 12:30 - 1:30pm
Location:
Level 2, Exhibition Hall
Many people of the Hindu faith observe Dusshera through special prayer meetings and food offerings to the gods at home or in temples throughout India.
They also hold outdoor fairs (melas) and large parades with effegies of Ravana (a mythical king of ancient Sri Lanka).
The effigies are burnt on bonfires in the evening. Dusshera is the culmination of the Navaratri festival.
As MIT welcomes and celebrates all cultures, we will be hosting a lunch with a variety of Indian food, celebrating Dusshera for all students.
Lunch will be served from 12:30pm at the Level 2 Exhibition Hall on Wednesday 5 October.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
