How to apply via UAC

What is UAC?

UAC stands for Universities Admissions Centre and is the main body that processes applications on behalf of universities, TAFE and private higher education providers in New South Wales (NSW).

Who can apply for course through UAC?

You can apply for undergraduate and postgraduate (coursework) study through UAC if you are:

  • an Australian or New Zealand citizen
  • a permanent resident of Australia
  • the holder of an Australian permanent resident humanitarian visa

You can also apply for undergraduate study through UAC if you're an international student who has completed/is undertaking one of the following qualifications in 2021 or 2022:

  • an Australian Year 12 in or outside Australia
  • an International Baccalaureate Diploma
  • a New Zealand National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA) Level 3.

Everyone else needs to apply directly to the uni.

Advantages of applying for a course through UAC

  • The UAC application system allows you to apply for courses at multiple universities within one application.
  • You’ll create a list of ‘preferences’ from the course/s you wish to apply for.
  • You will have the opportunity to revise your preferences throughout the selection period.
  • You can apply for scholarships, special entry schemes and complete some course-specific selection requirements within the UAC system.
